Novice price: $555 – includes $70 NYSFAAA membership fee and Novice fee of $485.

Arrival and Transportation

Site registration is open Monday, June 5 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM. The Novice Training Workshop kicks off at 11:15 AM. Attendees are expected to be on site by 11:00 AM, Monday, June 5, 2023. If you are traveling from a distance or by air, you may want to arrive on Sunday afternoon. Lodging is available for attendees arriving Sunday afternoon at no extra cost.

If you plan to arrive on Sunday afternoon, please notify the co-chairs at [email protected] so that you may receive instructions for early arrival.

If you plan to travel by air, LaGuardia is the nearest airport to the Dobbs Ferry Campus. 
The nearest subway station is the Ardsley-on-Hudson Station of the Metro-North Hudson Line.


Packing List & Required Tools

Below is a list of items you should bring with you:

  • Laptop or electronic device*
  • Toiletries – soap, toothpaste, lotion, shampoo, shower cap, etc.
  • Sneakers for evening group activities
  • T-shirt with your school/organization’s logo for School Spirit Day on Thursday
  • Casual clothing appropriate for professional training (shorts, sandals, light sweater/hoodie for air-conditioned rooms)
  • Business casual attire for the banquet at the end of the week

*Required Learning Tools
All training materials will be online. Attendees must bring a laptop or electronic device other than a cell phone that can access the internet. Expect to engage in online activities at studentaid.gov and FSA partners. The online 2022-2023 Federal Student Aid Handbook will be the primary resource for presentations, training topics, and learning activities. You may download a pdf of the FSA Handbook to your electronic device at this link: https://fsapartners.ed.gov/knowledge-center/fsa-handbook/pdf/2022-2023. The online resource for all presentations and handouts will be emailed to paid registrants on June 1st .


Lodging

Novice attendees will be residing at Hudson Hall in suite style housing that features double rooms and a shared bathroom. Linens, pillows, blanket, and towels will be provided. You will also receive paper towel, toilet paper, hand soap, hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes for your room.

Meals

Meals are included in your registration fee. Breakfast will be available Tuesday -Friday; lunch, Monday through Friday; and dinner Monday through Thursday. Be sure to list any food allergies and meal preferences (vegan, vegetarian, Kosher, Halal, etc.) on your registration form. Lite snacks are provided during evening activities.
