Having Fun with Taxes 2 – Tax Filers, Filing Status, and Rollovers
Thursday, October 08, 2020, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM EDT
Category: Events

This year’s second tax webinar will review the requirements for verifying tax filers. We’ll look at the documentation you’ll need to collect and where to find the FAFSA data on the 2019 tax forms. We’ll do a thorough review of the second tax concept financial aid officers are expected to be familiar with: what the correct filing status for a person should be. And we’ll look at the extra steps you’ll need to take if the taxpayer you are reviewing conducted a rollover during the tax year.

Presenter:
Robert Weinerman, Director of Training
Iron Bridge Resources, LLC

This is Robert’s fifth year doing tax training webinars for NYSFAAA. Robert started his financial aid career in
1993 as a financial aid officer at MIT – where he quickly became the go-to guy for difficult to interpret tax
returns. After over a decade as an aid officer at MIT, Babson College, and a few other schools in the Boston area,
Robert left the aid office to counsel students and parents at College Coach. Over the last four years Robert has
worked exclusively as a trainer to the financial aid community, talking about the intersection of financial aid,
taxes, and need analysis.
